My name is Tori Callais and I serve as the 2017-18 President of the Higher Education Student Professional Association more commonly known as HESPA. First, I wanted to thank you for your interest in LSU and our program and welcome you to the Tiger family. Our program, whether Masters, Doctoral, or both, provides students with a unique experience that challenges you as a scholar, develops you as a professional and connects you with faculty and staff who are dedicated to having those tough conversations in the realm of Social Justice, as well as guiding you along your Student Affairs journey. Our program provides you with the tools to be successful in our profession, while also emphasizing that learning is important inside and outside of the classroom. HESPA serves as a resource throughout your time at LSU and seeks to support you before, during, and after your time as a student in our program,
I ensure you that as a new student HESPA, as a student organization, will provide you with a welcoming and supportive social environment. Our organization offers mentors, workshops, and most importantly a family to support you throughout your time with us and afterwards. It is because of this organization that I have found support from colleagues, resources that have connected me to professionals all across the nation, the vast amount of opportunities that exist for Student Affairs professionals, as well as a home in Baton Rouge. By applying to our program I assure you that HESPA will support you and welcome you as a new professional, colleague, and friend.
Please reach out to any of our e-board members or myself with questions you may have about our program, organization, or
experiences. We are here to make your entire LSU
experience a great one so please do not be afraid to
use us as a resource. Thank you again for your interest
and as always GEAUX TIGERS!
Love Purple Live Gold,
Tori Callais
